Frequently Asked Questions for Hot Rods and Harleys Rahway

We've been getting a lot of messages lately, and we thought it would be wise to compile a list of FAQs for the upcoming event in Rahway.

What time does Hot Rods and Harleys start?

The event officially starts at 11 am and runs to 6pm. The first bands are scheduled to start at Noon.

Is there a fee to come to Hot Rods and Harleys?

No! Please come downtown and see the sights and listen to the music all day long at no charge! However, there is a day-of registration fee if you'd like to enter your vehicle in the Car or Bike show. There is also a Touch a Truck event, located in the lot across from Hannums Harley-Davidson, for which there is a $4 admission fee - with proceeds to benefit two great charities, Inroads to Opportunity and the NJ Institute for Disabilities. Come down and check it out!

Can I still pre-register my vehicle for the event?

No, unfortunately the pre-registration date has passed.

Can I register my car or bike on the day of the event?

Sure! You can still print the registration form from www.hrandh.com and bring it with you to register for the day of the event. You don't HAVE to pre-print the form, but it will speed up your day-of registration.

Where is this event? What address should I use?

The event covers 2-3 blocks downtown, so there isn't one particular address. We recommend using the address for Hannums Harley-Davidson, 12 W. Milton Ave., Rahway NJ for the west side of town, and City Hall, 1 City Hall Plaza, Rahway, NJ for the east side. Once you get close to the event, please follow the signs, and be aware that many of the streets downtown are closed during the event, so be prepared to detour from what your GPS may say.

I'd like to be a vendor for the event - how do I sign up?

Our vendor spaces are all full at this time.

Where should I park my vehicle?

If you are in the car show, they will show you where to park when you arrive at Car Registration, located near Cubanu's on Lewis Street. If you are in the bike show, you will be checking in and parking at the Train Station Plaza. If you are not entering the shows, then parking is first-come, first-served around the outside of the event. Bikes can park at Hannums Harley-Davidson. You may find street parking in the vicinity, and you may also find parking in the lot behind City Hall. As the event takes place literally AT the Train Station, many people will park in a neighboring town and take the train into Rahway. The stop is on both the Northeast Corridor and the North East Coast lines.

What bands are playing this year?

This is our first year with the new Music Fest format! We will have 3 stages throughout downtown and 12 bands playing during the course of the afternoon! You can view a complete schedule of bands here. Please check back to this

site for updates to this schedule.

Where can I find the . . .

We've put together an Event Map so that you can easily find whatever you're looking for - complete with a Music Schedule as well! You can find it right here!

What else is there to do in Rahway?

WELL! We have lots of restaurants and taverns downtown. Lots of our local businesses are putting on special events for the day - and you should plan to stay after if you're a fan of DooWop, as there's a huge DooWop show at the Union County Performing Arts Center Saturday evening! There's the Touch a Truck event in the lot across from Hannums H-D, there's a bouncy house for the kids. There will be HUNDREDS of cars and bikes to admire spanning several decades! Did we mention 12 live bands? Food trucks and street vendors? Beer Tent? Q104.3 - New York's Classic Rock - will be live broadcasting with Maria Milito! We will literally be FILLING Downtown Rahway with fun. And if you decide to stay for dinner, and party all night - the Watt Hotel is right in the heart of downtown Rahway and they will be offering a special Hot Rods and Harleys rate. You may never want to leave!

Is there a rain date for this event?

*GASP* Let's hope it doesn't come to that!! But yes, the rain date is for the following Saturday, May 19th. If we have to postpone the event, it will be posted on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. It will also be emailed to anyone who RSVP'd to our event on the site (and yes, you can still RSVP to be added to the emailing list!). It will also be posted on the main page of our website, www.hrandh.com. We will do our very best to get the word out as fast as we can. But - let's all think sunny thoughts OK?
